I had French fries today made in a Belgian style. While the treat is wonderful all year-round, I must say that I especially love them when it’s cold outside and one is wrapped in the safety of one’s home. This feeling matches the texture and flavor of the fries, their crisp exterior holding all the heat of the fried potato within. They are delicious, and the heat from the frying pan, while dangerous, is less uncomfortable than during a humid summer, a rainy spring, or an autumn whose weather vascilates between the dying vibrancy of summer and winter’s growing chill.
