Several months ago, I mentioned the loss of Popeyes to the Pittsburgh region, and wondered what would cause a chain to vacate the surrounding area both so suddenly and so quickly.  About a month later it was reported by the Pittsburgh Business Times that Popeyes would be reopening, but in a different location and under new franchise management.

Since Popeyes is now in Oakland, venturing there is a rarer treat for me than it was in the past, as there are few places to park in that section of town.  However, it appears the Popeyes in Penn Center in Wilkins is being worked on, and hopefully the other locations will be open soon as well.
