As I wrote last year, there is something odd about the spring blossoms that makes me sneeze, causes my ears to feel as though sand has been poured into them, and forces my sinuses to undergo its annual rite of irritation. It is especially strange because on Tuesday, I spent the nearly the entire outdoors to no ill effect. It was only yesterday, when I began to feel the light touch of spring inside my nostrils, and today, when pollen told my immune system to go into overdrive, that the warm spring air began to feel like an unwelcome guest.
